It is a working hypothesis. The useful question is not whether your finished bar should look like it. The question is whether your plan can explain every movement just as clearly.
Begin with the drinks, not the bottle wall
A backbar elevation is tempting because it is easy to admire. Rows of bottles, warm shelves, mirror, brass, and glass make an immediate presentation. They say little about how the team will build a round.
Start with the actual menu and sales mix. Build the bartender station in the order of use

Run dirty glass in one direction

Do not place the first dirty landing beside the final clean rack because both seem related to glass. They represent opposite ends of the process. Then make the clean route shorter. A washed rack should reach its drain and storage position without passing the dirty drop, ice, garnish, or guest pickup. If staff polish, provide suitable light, posture, landing space, and a safe response to a glass breaking in the cloth.
Size the glasswasher around cycles and racks
A manufacturer’s cycle time is not the same as practical capacity. Add loading, unloading, sorting, draining, cooling, inspection, faults, and the moment when the bartender is too busy to open the door. Count each glass type used during the peak and the number held in drinks at once.
Coordinate water, drainage, ventilation, heat, steam, chemical storage and dosing, electrical load, service access, noise, door swing, rack storage, and floor conditions from the selected equipment data. Treat consumable ice as food
Ice has a delivery route, protected storage, scoop, drainage condition, refill method, cleaning schedule, and contamination risk. Coordinate drainage and condensation. The floor around an ice station should not reveal the problem only after the first humid service.
Keep garnish cold, covered, dated, and reachable
Garnish turns a simple worktop into a food-handling zone. Commission the bar through opening, peak, and closing
Commissioning is not the moment every light turns on. Verify equipment, water, drainage, ventilation, refrigeration, washer cycles, chemical dosing, seals, shelves, fixings, door swings, controls, payment, network, acoustics, cleaning access, and lighting scenes under real operating conditions.
Label isolation points and controls in the staff system, not on the guest-facing elevation.
